Penn State Men's Gymnastics Downs William & Mary 216.475-207.275
University Park, Pa., February 28, 2004-No. 5 Penn State downed No. 13 William & Mary by a commanding 216.475-207.275 Saturday afternoon in Rec Hall. Penn State sophomore Chad Buczek (Bridgewater, Mass.) won the all-around with a score of 53.550. Buczek finished first on the floor exercise and second in still rings, vault and parallel bars. Penn State leads the overall series with William and Mary 8-0. Penn State never trailed throughout the match with senior Zack Roeder (Montrose, Pa.) leading the way by taking first place on the pommel horse with a 9.700 and second place on the floor exercise with a 9.150. Junior Ludwig Kern (Annapolis, Md.) finished in first place on the vault with a career best 9.600. The nation's leader on the rings and the 2003 NCAA championship, Kevin Tan (Fremont, Calif.) posted a 9.825 to remain undefeated on the apparatus this year. Penn State will travel to face No.10 Stanford on March 6, 7 p.m. before returning home for a double dual meet with the women against Army on March 13 at 7.pm. in Rec Hall for senior night.
