Former Nittany Lion O'Neill Earns Senior PGA Card




STATE COLLEGE, Pa. December 19, 2001 -- Former Nittany Lion golfer Daniel O'Neill recently earned a Senior PGA tour card. He finished tied for third at the final stage of the Senior PGA Tour Qualifying School Tournament thereby earning him a full 2002 exemption. O'Neill shot a four round total of 280 (-8) at the Southern California Golf Club at Oaks Valley in Calimesa, Calif.

While at Penn State, O'Neill was a four-time honorable mention All-American from 1970-1973. He also was a two-time Eastern Champion, winning the championship in 1972 and 1973. O'Neill was a member of Penn State teams that won back-to-back Eastern Championships in 1971 and 1972.

O'Neill graduated from Penn State in 1972 and resides in Johnstown, Pa.
