Men's Golf Tied for 10th Place in the Pac 10 Versus Big 10 Golf Challenge

First Round Stats

Bandon, Oregon (October, 24, 2004) - After the first day of the Big 10 versus Pac Ten Golf Challenge the Penn State men's team tied for 10th place at +22 along with Oregon, Michigan and Purdue.

The golfers representing Penn State were Greg Pieczynski with four over, Marco Poccia with five over, Ted Neville with six over, Mark Leon with seven over, and Andrew Price with nine over par.

In the conference challenge, the Pac-10 took a 38-stroke lead, plus-70 to plus-108. Each conference counts its low six scores to determine the challenge winner.

Due to inclement weather, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes total which will tentatively be completed Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m.
