SCARSDALE, N.Y., Oct. 23, 2001 -- The Penn State men's golf team placed fourth at The Tillinghast tournament. The Lions finished 30 strokes behind first-place finisher Illinois (577/+17). Second was Minnesota (580) followed by Texas-Arlington (589) and Penn State (590).
Junior Jim Fuller (Muskogee, Okla.) paced the Nittany Lions, firing a 70 (E) in the last round to place him tied for 11th (145/+5). Teammates Jeff Turton (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Andy Latowski (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tied for 15th and 17th, respectivly. Turton finished with a seven-over-par 147 while Latowski fired a 148 (+8). Penn State will travel to Leesburg, Va. to play in the Georgetown Hoya Invite, Oct. 28-29.
