Men¡¯s Golf Takes Fourth in Memphis
State College, Pa (October 4)- The Nittany Lions took 4th place at the Memphis Collegiate in Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday. The Lions finished tied with Iowa and Kansas State with a 20-over 884. Penn State finished strong, shooting for par in the final round with a team score of 288. Sophomore Robert Rohanna (Waynesburg, Pa.) led the Lions again with an even score of 216. Senior Greg Pieczynski (Kingston, Pa.) was 7-over 223, tying him for 30th. On the fifth whole of the final round, Pieczynski shot a hole-in-one (par 3, 183 yards). Tying Pieczynski was senior Marco Poccia (Saratoga Spring, NY). Sophomore Harvin Groft (State College, Pa.) finished a stroke behind to finish tied for 33rd. Freshman Chad Bricker (Waynesboro, Pa.) shot a 15-over 231 to finish tied for 54th place. Winning the tournament was Memphis University, who finished with a 12-over 876. Next week the Lions go to San Francisco for the McKenzie Intercollegiate.
