Penn State Men's Golf Team Places Eighth at Northern Intercollegiate

State College, Pa. ¨C September 29, 2002 ¨C The Penn State Men¡¯s Golf team shot a plus-11 863 to finish eighth of 16 at the Northern Intercollegiate at Indiana University this past weekend. Jim Fuller paced Penn State once again with a superb eight-under 205, finishing in second place.

Fuller had a superb 66-70-69 tournament and was just three shots off James Lepp of Illinois at the tournament¡¯s conclusion. While Fuller excelled, no other Lion could crack the top 30 with Andrew Price placing 36th as Penn State¡¯s next best finisher with a 219 (+6)

Ted Neville placed 47th (+8), Mark Leon 56th (+9) and Greg Pieczynski 60th (+10) to round out Penn State¡¯s top entrants. Illinois won the team title with a nine-under 843. Minnesota was second at 844 and Michigan State was third at 848.

Penn State will return to action on October 14 and 15 at the Xavier Provident.
