Ruther Glen, Va., September 24, 2006 -The Penn State men¡¯s golf team is set to compete in the second annual Mattaponi Springs Shootout, a two-day tournament beginning Monday, September 25. The tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Mattaponi Springs Golf Club in Ruther Glen, Va. Fourteen teams will compete on the challenging 6,911-yard, par-72 course. The Shootout will begin with 36-holes on Monday, followed by 18-holes on Tuesday.

Other teams competing in the tournament include Charlotte, Indiana, Kent State, Louisville, Maryland, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Richmond, Texas-Arlington, host-team VCU, Wichita State, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

Penn State¡¯s lineup consists of juniors Robert Rohanna (Waynesburg, Pa.) and Harvin Groft (State College, Pa.), sophomore Chad Bricker (Waynesboro, Pa.), and freshmen Kevin Foley (Somerville, N.J.) and Jim Markovitz (Bridgeville, Pa).
