Penn State¡¯s Rohanna Fourth After First Two Rounds Of Wolverine Intercollegiate
Ann Arbor, Mich., Sept. 16, 2006 ¨C The Penn State men¡¯s golf team opened its Fall season Saturday at the Wolverine Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Michigan on the U-M Golf Course. Nittany Lion junior Robert Rohanna got off to a good start posting rounds of 68 and 70 on the par-71, 6,704-yard course and stands tied for fourth with a two round total of four-under par 138. The Nittany Lion team stood in ninth place in the 14-team field after the opening two rounds posting totals of 291 and 286 for a two-round total of nine-over par 577. The University of Wisconsin led the team standing with a two-round total of four-under par 564, while Oregon State¡¯s Mitch Gillis led the individual standings with rounds of 65 and 70 for a two-round total of seven-under par 135. Play will conclude with one round on Sunday. Other Nittany Lions scoring on the day included sophomore Chad Bricker who stood tied for 31st after rounds of 75 and 70 for a three-over par total of 145. Freshman Kevin Foley got off to a rough start with a 77 in his first collegiate round but quickly rebounded with a 69 and stands 41st with a two-round total of four-over par 146. sophomore Matt Leon shot rounds of 74 and 77 for a total of nine-over par 151 to stand tied for 63rd and red-shirt freshman Tyler Tarney shot 74 and 80 for a 12-over par 154 to stand tied for 73rd.
