Penn State Men's Golf Team Sets 2002-03 Schedule
State College, Pa. - August 29, 2002 - The Penn State Nittany Lion men's golf team will open up its 2002-03 season at the Badger Invitational in Madison,Wisc., next weekend. In all, the Penn State men's team will take part in 12 tournaments this year prior to post-season play. Head coach Greg Nye's team will start up the fall slate at Wisconsin's Badger Invitational on Friday, September 6. The three-day tournament concludes on Sunday. Penn State will take part in five other tournament's during the fall portion of the schedule: the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va. (Sept. 21-22); the Northern Intercollegiate in Bloomington, Ind. (Sept. 28-29); the Xavier Provident Invitational in Mason, Ohio (Oct. 14-15); the Georgetown Hoya Invitational in Washington, D.C. (Oct. 27-28), and the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. (Nov. 1-3). The spring schedule begins in March with a trip to Citrus Springs, Fla., and the El Diablo Intercollegiate on March 15-16. Five other Spring tournaments are on tap for Penn State as well: The Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J. (April 11-12); the First Energy Collegiate in Kent, Ohio (April 19-20); Penn State's own Rutherford Intercollegiate at the Penn State Blue Course (April 26-27); the Big Ten Championships at Bloomington, Ind. (May 3-5) and the Maxwell in Ardmore, Okla. (May 10-11). NCAA Regionals are set for May 15-17 with the NCAA Championships slated for May 28-31 in Stillwater, Okla.
