Men's Golf Finishes in 20th at the NCAA East Regional

Nashville, Tenn., May 21, 2005 - The Penn State men's golf team finished in 20th place at the NCAA East Regional after shooting a three-round score of 885 (+9) at the Golf Club of Tennesse in Nashville, Tenn. Senior Ted Neville (Oklahoma City, Okla.) led the Nittany Lions individually with a final score of 216 (+3) to take a tie for 48th place.

Wake Forest continued its lead into the final round of the tournament and claimed first place with a score of 835 (-17). Tennessee finished in second place with an 837 (-15) followed by Georgia in third place who finished with a 843 (-9). Dustin Johnson of Coastal Carolina shot a 64 in the third round to place first individually with a 198 (-15). Rhys Davis of East Tennessee State took second place with a 199 (-14) and two players shared a tie for third place.

Freshman Robert Rohanna (Waynesburg, Pa.) finished second individually for the Nittany Lions with a final score of 221 (+8) to place in a tie for 77th. Senior Mark Leon (Brampton, Ontario) shot a 223 (+10) to take a tie for 92nd place and senior Greg Pieczynski (Kingston, Pa.) finished with a final score of 227 (+14) to grab 104th place. Marco Poccia rounded out the five players for Penn State with a final 228 (+15) to finish in a tie for 108th.
