Men's Golf Drops to 20th After Two Rounds at the NCAA East Regional
Nashville, Tenn., May 20, 2005 - The Penn State men's golf team dropped one spot to 20th after two rounds of the NCAA East Regional held at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Nasville, Tenn. after firing a 293-299-592 (+24). Senior Ted Neville (Oklahoma City, Okla.) continues to lead Penn State indivdually with a score of 144 (+2). Wake Forest University holds the top spot for the second day of the tournament shooting a two-round score of 554 (-14). Florida sits in second place with a score of 557 (-11) followed by Georgia who finished with a 558 (-10). Rhys Davies of East Tennessee St. leads the regional individually shooting a two round score of 131 (-11) while Michael Schachner of Duke sits in second place with a 132 (-10). Five players hold a tie for third place. Freshman Robert Rohanna (Waynesburg, Pa.) shot a 75 in the second round to finish with a 147 (+5) to grab a tie for 71st place. Mark Leon (Brampton, Ontario) holds a tie for 88th place with a 150 (+8) followed by Marco Poccia (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) who finished in a tie for 106th place with a score of 152 (+10). Senior Greg Pieczynski (Kingston, Pa.) fired a 153 (+11) to place in a tie for 112th. The third and final round of the tournament will begin at 7:12 a.m.
