Men¡¯s Golf in Eighth at Big Ten Championships

State College, Pa.; April 29, 2006- The Penn State men¡¯s golf team is in 8th place out of 11 teams after one round at the Big Ten Golf Championships, held at Conway Farms Golf Course in Lake Forest, Ill.

Sophomore Robert Rohanna is leading the Nittany Lions as he is tied for 11th after shooting a first round 71 (E). Freshman Matt Leon is tied for 19th place after shooting a 1-over-par 72, junior Patrick Marshalek is tied for 31st after shooting a 74 (+3), senior Greg Piecznynski shot an 76 (+5) and is tied for 39th, while sophomore Harvin Groft shot an 81 (+10) and is tied for 53rd place.

After one round, Penn State has a team score of 293 (+9).

Michigan State University currently leads the tournament with a team score of 277 (-7).
