Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Rutherford Intercollegiate

State College, Pa. (April 22) - The Penn State men¡¯s golf team finished tied for 4th place at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, battling cold and wet conditions. The team shot a third round 294 and 903 (+39).

Eastern Michigan won the tournament with a 19-over-par 595.

Penn State freshman Matt Leon finished tied for 7th after shooting a 73 to put him at 223 (+7) for the tournament, Greg Pieczynski is finished for 24th after shooting a final round 73 (+11 for tournament), John Aubrey tied for 61st after shooting an 80 (+21 for tournament), Robert Rohanna tied for 32nd after shooting a 75 (+14 for tournament) and Harvin Groft tied for 17th after shooting a 73 (+10 for tournament).

Penn State¡¯s Patrick Marshalek, playing individually, finished 6th after shooting a 79 (+6 for tournament). As for Penn State¡¯s other individuals, Marco Poccia tied for 59th after shooting a 79 (+20 for tournament), Andrew Price tied for 72th after shooting an 85 (+25 for tournament) and Mitch Van Zelfden finished 78th after shooting an 81 (+27 for the tournament).

Korey Mahoney of Eastern Michigan won the individual title, shooting a final round 74 to put him at 215 (-1) for the tournament.

Next weekend the Nittany Lions head to Chicago to compete at the Big Ten Championship.
