Men’ Golf Leads After Two Rounds At First Energy Intercollegiate
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – After two rounds of golf, the Penn State men’s golf is in first place at the First Energy Intercollegiate at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. The Nittany Lions shot a stellar second round of 280 to shoot a two round of score of 575. They are one shot ahead of Miami and in front of Iowa.
Penn State’s top individual is Andy Latowski (Pittsburgh, Pa.) in second place.. Latowski shot rounds of 71 and 70 for a total of 141. He is five strokes behind Eric Phipps of Miami. Jim Fuller (Muskogee, Okla.) and Mark Leon (Brampton, Ohio) are tied for eighth place with scores of 144. Both golfers used strong second rounds to put them in the top ten. Fuller shot a round of 68, while Leaon shot a 69. Josh Dawes (Jacksonville, Fla.) is in 18th place with a score of 146. The final 18 holes of golf will take place tomorrow.
