Nittany Lion Men¡¯s Golfers Sit Tied for Fifth at Pinehurst

State College, Pa. - The Penn State Nittany Lions men¡¯s golf team shot a first round 301 (+13) to find themselves tied for fifth place at The Centennial Pinehurst No. 8 in Pinehurst, NC. The tournament features 17 teams and will conclude March 21.

Sophomore Robert Rohanna continued his solid play, shooting an even 72, which puts him tied for fourth place. Freshman Chad Bricker is tied for 21st with a 75 (+3), freshman Mitch Van Zelfden and senior Greg Pieczynski are both tied for 45th after shooting 5-over-par 77s and sophomore Harvin Groft of State College, Pa. is tied for 67th place after shooting an 80 (+8).

Southern Methodist University leads the field after the first round with a 291 (+3).
