COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Penn State men's golf team finished the Kepler Intercollegiate Sunday in 12th place, shooting a 308-293-308 to bring the team's score to a 909 on the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University Golf Club.
Sophomore JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) dropped to a tied-for-20th place finish, but led the Nittany Lions throughout the two-day tournament. Dornes posted an 80 on the final 18 holes to put up a 222 total. Junior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.) improved 11 places in the final round, shooting a 226 and finishing tied-for-34th.
Freshman Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) shot his best round in day two of the tournament, tallying a 77 to bring his total to a 240.
Georgia Tech remained in first place for the entirety of the Kepler Intercollegiate, finishing with a 6-over 858. The team's own Ollie Schniederjans caught up to Ohio State's Frederik Hammer to tie for the tournament's first place individual finish.
The Nittany Lions will wrap up their regular season spring schedule at home for the two-day Rutherford Intercollegiate April 19-20 on the Penn State Blue Course.
