Foley Named Third-Team All-American by Golfweek
Penn State golfer Kevin Foley (Sommerville, N.J.) can add another award to his growing collection of accomplishments as he has been named third-team All-American by Golfweek. Foley has kick-started his summer career by recently taking first place at the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament, topping the best-ranked amateurs in the country. Foley has also been named a 2009 PING All-American, GCAA All-Regional team member as well as first-team All-Big Ten selection, all in the last three months. Read More >>
Foley Wins Sunnehanna Amateur Title
Nittany Lion, Kevin Foley (Sommerville, N.J.) has been named the 56th champion of the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament for Champions after an impressive 72 holes of golf. Foley shot a 68 in the final round to secure the title and the lead by five strokes. Foley is the second Penn Stater to win the Sunnhanna since Bill Hyndman back in `58 and `67. Read More >>
Foley Confidently Tops Sunnehanna Leaderboard
With the completion of the third round of the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament, Penn State's Kevin Foley remains in first place. Foley has shot rounds of 61-68-70 (199) for an 11-under par three-day total, giving him a three-stroke cushion for the final round. The best amateur golfers in the country compete in this prestigious tournament, which has crowned the world's best in golf, including: Tiger Woods, Fred Couples, Davis Love and Phil Mickelson. The Penn State Blue Course will be host to the 2009 Big Ten Championships. The tournament will take place on May 1-3 and will be one of the most competitive Big Ten Championships in recent memory as every team in the conference was ranked in the top 80 at the end of the fall season.
