Nittany Lions in the NFL – Week 13

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - A total of 28 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 21 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions annually are among the top-20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com has provided updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.

Robbie Gould was arguably the most impactful player in all of the NFL in Week 13, successfully converting all five of his field goal attempts to account for all of the 49ers’ points in a 15-14 victory. Veteran linebackers Navorro Bowman and Paul Posluszny also had big games, as Bowman recovered a fumble for the Raiders and was the game’s leading tackler, while Posluszny enjoyed his best game since 2015 with 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Additionally, defensive linemen DaQuan Jones and Austin Johnson combined for 2.5 sacks for the Titans.

Brandon Bell (2013-16) LB, Cincinnati Bengals
Steelers 23, Bengals 20
Bell is on the Bengals practice squad.

Navorro Bowman (2007-09) LB, Oakland Raiders
Raiders 24, Giants 17
Bowman made a game-high nine tackles with eight solo stops and a tackle for a loss against the Giants. He also had a fumble recovery in the second quarter, his first of the season and the sixth of his career.

Carter is on the Vikings practice squad.

Jack Crawford (2008-11) DE, Atlanta Falcons

Crawford is on injured reserve with a torn bicep.

Garry Gilliam (2010-12) T, San Francisco 49ers

Gilliam is on injured reserve with an MCL injury.

Chris Godwin (2014-16) WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Packers 26, Buccaneers 20
Godwin caught two passes for 24 yards and made a tackle on special teams in the loss to the Panthers.

Gould made all five of his field goal attempts of 33, 28, 35, 34 and 24 yards to account for all 15 points for the 49ers in the one-point victory.

Christian Hackenberg (2013-15) QB, New York Jets

Hackenberg was inactive this week.

Tamba Hali (2002-05) LB, Kansas City Chiefs

Hali was inactive this week against the Jets.

Jordan Hill (2009-12) DT, Detroit Lions
Ravens 44, Lions 20
Hill is on injured reserve with a bicep injury.

Chris Hogan (men's lacrosse - 2007-10) WR, New England Patriots
Patriots 23, Bills 3
Hogan was inactive with a shoulder injury.

Mike Hull (2011-14) LB, Miami Dolphins
Dolphins 35, Broncos 9
Hull saw action at linebacker and had two tackles on 11 snaps, while also seeing extensive action on special teams.

Jesse James (2012-14) TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
Steelers 23, Bengals 20
James was limited to one reception, but it was a crucial one. His 13-yard catch on third-and-5 from the Cincinnati 19-yard line with 4:37 remaining in the game setup a game-tying touchdown.

DaQuan Jones (2010-13) DE, Tennessee Titans 
Titans 24, Texans 13
Jones started at defensive end for the Titans and had 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss among his five tackles on the day. This is Jones second consecutive week with more than one sack and is now at a career-high 3.5 sacks on the season.

Johnson had five tackles, including four solo stops and a sack, which was his first of the season.

Sean Lee (2005-07, 2009) MLB, Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys 38, Redskins 14
Lee was inactive Thursday against the Redskins with a hamstring injury.

Jordan Lucas (2012-15) CB, Miami Dolphins
Dolphins 35, Broncos 9
Lucas had two tackles at cornerback and another on special teams in the win against the Broncos.

Michael Mauti (2008-12) LB, New Orleans Saints
Saints 31, Panthers 21
Mauti had a tackle on special teams in the victory over the Panthers.

Carl Nassib (2011-15) DE, Cleveland Browns
Chargers 19, Browns 10
Nassib started at defensive end for the Browns and made two tackles, including a tackle for a loss.

Paul Posluszny (2003-06) LB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars 30, Colts 10
Posluszny had a standout performance against the Colts with a game-high 14 tackles – his most since 2015 - including 10 solo stops, 1.5 sacks, two tackles for loss and a quarterback hit.

Allen Robinson (2011-13) WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars 30, Colts 10
Robinson is on injured reserve with an ACL injury to his left knee.

A.Q. Shipley (2005-08) C, Arizona Cardinals 
Rams 32. Cardinals 16
Shipley started at center for the Cardinals, making his 27th consecutive start, and played on all of the offensive snaps.

Donovan Smith (2012-13) T, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Packers 26, Buccaneers 20
Smith started at left tackle and has started all 42 games of his NFL career. Smith helped quarterback Jameis Winston throw for 270 yards and two touchdowns on 32 pass attempts.

Nate Stupar (2008-11) LB, New Orleans Saints
Saints 31, Panthers 21
Stupar is on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Ross Travis (men's basketball - 2011-14) TE, Indianapolis Colts
Jaguars 30, Colts 10
Travis was waived by the Chiefs last week but was claimed by the Colts. He was inactive this week against the Jaguars.

Cameron Wake (2000, 02-04) DE, Miami Dolphins
Dolphins 35, Broncos 9
Wake started at defensive end in the victory over the Broncos.

Trevor Williams (2012-15) CB, Los Angeles Chargers
Chargers 19, Browns 10
Williams started at cornerback for the Chargers and made one tackle and deflected two passes in a win over the Browns.

Stefen Wisniewski (2007-10) G/C, Philadelphia Eagles
Seahawks 24, Eagles 10
Wisniewski started at left guard and helped the offense total 425 yards.

Anthony Zettel (2012-15) DL, Detroit Lions
Ravens 44, Lions 20
Zettel started for the Lions and made three tackles and had a quarterback hit against the Ravens.
