Nittany Lions in the NFL -- Week Seven

A total of 29 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 21 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions annually are among the top-20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, has provided updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.

A trio of Linebacker U alums returned to the field in Week 7. Sean Lee returned to Dallas' starting lineup after missing multiple games with a hamstring injury, Michael Mauti was re-signed by New Orleans to fill-in for former Nittany Lion, Nate Stupar, who was placed on injured reserve, and Navorro Bowman made his debut with the Raiders. Bowman shined in silver and black, as he made a team-high 11 tackles.

Additionally, defensive ends Cameron Wake and DaQuan Jones had standout weekends setting season highs for sacks (2.5) and tackles (7), respectively.

Adrian Amos (2011-14) FS, Chicago Bears
Bears 17, Panthers 3
Amos started at safety for the Bears and had six tackles, which were all solo stops and included a tackle for a loss. He also broke up one pass.

Brandon Bell (2013-16) LB, Cincinnati Bengals
Steelers 29, Bengals 14 
Bell is on the Bengals practice squad.

Navorro Bowman (2007-09) LB, Oakland Raiders
Raiders 31, Chiefs 30
Bowman was named a captain and started at middle linebacker in his Oakland Raiders debut. He led the team with 11 tackles, including a tackle for a loss, and also had a quarterback hit.

Kyle Carter (2012-15) TE, Minnesota Vikings
Vikings 24, Ravens 16 
Carter is on the Vikings practice squad.

Jack Crawford (2008-11) DE, Atlanta Falcons
Patriots 23, Falcons 7
Crawford is on injured reserve with a torn bicep.

Garry Gilliam (2010-12) T, San Francisco 49ers
Cowboys 40, 49ers 10
Gilliam played 20 snaps on offense and saw limited action on special teams against the Cowboys.

Chris Godwin (2014-16) WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bills 30, Buccaneers 27
Godwin had one catch for five yards against the Bills. He also saw extensive action on special teams.

Robbie Gould (2001-04) K, San Francisco 49ers
Cowboys 40, 49ers 10
Gould converted a 42-yard field goal and his only extra point attempt against the Cowboys.

Christian Hackenberg (2013-15) QB, New York Jets
Dolphins 31, Jets 28
Hackenberg was inactive this week.

Tamba Hali (2002-05) LB, Kansas City Chiefs 
Raiders 31. Chiefs 30
Hali is on the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list.

Jordan Hill (2009-12) DT, Detroit Lions
Bye Week
Hill is on injured reserve with a bicep injury.

Chris Hogan (men's lacrosse - 2007-10) WR, New England Patriots
Patriots 23, Falcons 7
Hogan had four catches for 71 yards on Sunday Night Football, including a 30-yard reception, which was the longest play of the game for the Patriots.

Mike Hull (2011-14) LB, Miami Dolphins
Dolphins 31, Jets 28
Hull played on special teams against the Jets and had one tackle on a punt return.

Jesse James (2012-14) TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
Steelers 29, Bengals 14
James started at tight end for the Steelers in a win over the Bengals.

DaQuan Jones (2010-13) DE, Tennessee Titans 
Titans 12, Browns 9
Jones made his 40th consecutive regular season start at defensive end for the Titans and had a season-high seven tackles in the overtime victory.

Austin Johnson (2012-15) DT, Tennessee Titans 
Titans 12, Browns 9
Johnson saw action against the Browns.

Sean Lee (2005-07, 2009) MLB, Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys 40, 49ers 10
Sean Lee returned from injury to start at linebacker for the Cowboys and had five tackles, all solo stops, including two tackles for a loss and forced two fourth downs in the game.

Jordan Lucas (2012-15) CB, Miami Dolphins
Dolphins 31, Jets 28
Lucas saw action against the Falcons on special teams.

Michael Mauti (2008-12) LB, New Orleans Saints
Saints 26, Packers 17
Mauti was re-signed by the Saints Wednesday to replace injured, fellow Penn Stater Nate Stupar. Mauti saw extensive action on special teams in a win over the Packers.

Carl Nassib (2011-15) DE, Cleveland Browns
Titans 12, Browns 9
Nassib was inactive against the Titans.

Paul Posluszny (2003-06) LB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars 27, Colts 0
Posluszny saw limited action in a shutout of the Colts.

Allen Robinson (2011-13) WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars 27, Colts 0
Robinson is on injured reserve with an ACL injury to his left knee.

Evan Schwan (2013-16) DE, New York Giants
Seahawks 24, Giants 7
Schwan is on injured reserve with a broken foot.

A.Q. Shipley (2005-08) C, Arizona Cardinals

Shipley started at center for the Cardinals, making his 22nd consecutive start, and had a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter.

Donovan Smith (2012-13) OT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bills 30, Buccaneers 27
Smith started at left tackle and has started all 37 games of his NFL career. He played all of the snaps against Buffalo and helped protect quarterback Jameis Winston as he threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns while getting sacked just once.

Nate Stupar (2008-11) LB, New Orleans Saints
Saints 26, Packers 17
Stupar was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Ross Travis (men's basketball - 2011-14) TE, Kansas City Chiefs
Raiders 31, Chiefs 30
Travis started at tight end for the Chiefs and had his third catch of the season for three yards.

Cameron Wake (2000, 02-04) DE, Miami Dolphins
Dolphins 31, Jets 28
Wake heavily pressured the quarterback with a season-high 2.5 sacks for a loss of 24 yards. He was in on two sacks in the fourth quarter.

Trevor Williams (2012-15) CB, Los Angeles Chargers
Chargers 21, Broncos 0 
Williams started at cornerback and had four tackles, all solo stops.

Stefen Wisniewski (2007-10) G/C, Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles 34, Redskins 24 
Wisniewski started at left guard and protected quarterback Carson Wentz, who threw four touchdown passes, in a win over the Redskins on Monday Night Football.
