UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With the season opener vs. Akron two weeks away, Penn State fans will have an opportunity to get ready for the season with the airing of three Nittany Lion preview shows.

The hour-long "Penn State Football 2009 Season Preview Special presented by the Pennsylvania Propane Foundation and your local Propane Service Provider" will begin airing this weekend on the Big Ten Network, regional sports cable networks and Pennsylvania stations.

Created by the Emmy Award-winning producers of The Penn State Football Story, the "Penn State Football 2009 Season Preview" Special will include player interviews and their favorite moments from the 2008 season, scenes from the first two weeks of practice and a feature on Daryll Clark's week as a counselor at the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp in July.

The "Penn State Football 2009 Season Preview Special" will debut on the Big Ten Network on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 4:00 p.m. The program will debut Sunday, Aug. 23 on FSN Pittsburgh (5:00 p.m.), CSN-Philadelphia (7:00 and 11:00 p.m) and Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (11:30 a.m.).

Among the Pennsylvania outlets carrying the "Penn State 2009 Season Preview Special" are: WTAJ-TV, Ch. 10 (State College, Altoona, Johnstown); WHP-TV, Ch. 21 (Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Reading); WNEP-TV, Ch. 16 (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre); WFMZ-TV, Ch. 69 (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton); FSN Pittsburgh and CSN-Philadelphia (Philadelphia/New Jersey/Delaware).

The Big Ten Network, YES (New York) and MASN (Baltimore-Washington, D.C.), are among the other networks carrying the program across the nation.

The Big Ten's Network's 2009 Penn State Preview show will debut at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27 with several repeat airings prior to the Nittany Lions' Sept. 5 season opener vs. Akron. WTAJ-TV's preview of the Nittany Lions will air at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
