Quarterback Club Membership Nearing Capacity

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., July 25, 2006 - State College Quarterback Club President Larry Walker announced today that membership was nearing capacity for the 12 Penn State Football luncheons this season.

"We are rapidly approaching our membership cap," Walker said. "We're very pleased with the response and enthusiasm for the upcoming season."

Walker urged previous and new Quarterback Club members to register for their 2006 membership by August 15 in order to have their membership card and parking pass in hand for the first luncheon.

Membership is open to the public and all dues are tax deductible.

The Quarterback Club will begin its weekly luncheons on Wednesday, August 30, at The Mount Nittany Club. The luncheons, held during the football season, feature Penn State coach Joe Paterno and members of the squad each week. There will be 12 luncheons through November 15.

The lunch and program are $13 per person for members and $20 per person for a guest who may attend only one time per year.

The doors to the Mount Nittany Club will open at 11:00 a.m. Registration will take place in the Mount Nittany Club and the main entrance for club members will be through Gate B on the west side of the stadium.

Membership in the Quarterback Club is limited to the first 500 who send their tax deductible dues of $50 per person or $80 per married couple. Checks payable to the State College Quarterback Club should be sent to: Mr. Bob Levy, Seligman Friedman, 1423 North Atherton Street, State College, PA 16803. A membership card and reserved parking pass will be mailed to Club members upon receipt of 2006 dues.

The State College Quarterback Club supports the Penn State football program and is open to all fans of the Nittany Lions. The Club annually sponsors the Penn State Football Banquet, which salutes the Nittany Lion seniors, following the season.

Larry Walker is the president of the Quarterback Club for 2006-07. Carla Jeremias is first vice president, Dave Richards is second vice president, Bob Levy serves as treasurer and Jodi Green as secretary.
