Fifth Annual ˇ°Penn State Lift for Lifeˇ± Set for July 13; Silent Auction to Help in Fight Against Kidney Cancer
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; July 5, 2007 ¨C Preparations are continuing for Penn State Football Uplifting Athletes Fifth Annual Lift For Life, set for Friday, July 13 in Holuba Hall. More than 90 Nittany Lion football student-athletes are expected to compete in the event, with proceeds again benefiting the Kidney Cancer Association. In its fifth year, the Nittany Lions have help raise awareness for this rare disease and generated more than $148,000 to support this cause. Uplifting Athletes also announced some of the silent auction items that will be available at Lift For Life. Among the items to be auctioned are a Paul Posluszny autographed jersey, an autographed Donovan McNabb helmet, jersey and football, a Reggie Bush autographed football and a Sean Payton autographed picture. The auction will be held in conjunction with the Lift For Life competition with bidding starting at 3:00 p.m. and closing at 6:00 p.m. All event attendees are welcome to participate. Lift For Life is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10 per person or $5 for students or children. The competition will be held in Holuba Hall on the University Park campus and is scheduled from 2:00-7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 1:30.
