Penn State Home Opener Set for 12 p.m. Kick

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State's Sept. 7 home opener vs. Eastern Michigan has been set for a 12:00 p.m. kick in Beaver Stadium. The contest against the Eagles is Penn State's fifth announced kick time for the 2013 season.
Big Ten Network will televise the Penn State-Eastern Michigan game to a national audience, the Nittany Lions' second announced BTN game of the season. Coverage on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Coach Bill O'Brien's Nittany Lions and Eastern Michigan will be playing for the third time, with the last meeting coming in 2011 in Happy Valley. The teams first met in 1992.
Penn State will launch its 127th season on Aug. 31 at 3:30 p.m. vs. Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Nittany Lion Club members can order tickets for the Syracuse game at 1-800-NITTANY weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or online via their Account Manager. General public tickets in the Penn State sections at MetLife Stadium go on sale Monday, June 17 at 10 a.m. at 1-800-NITTANY.
Penn State's other three announced kick times all are in primetime. The Nittany Lions host UCF (Sept. 14, 6 p.m.) and Michigan (Oct. 12, 5 p.m.) and visit Ohio State (Oct. 26, 8 p.m.). The UCF game will air on BTN, the 94th Homecoming game against Michigan will air on ESPN or ESPN2 and the clash at Ohio State will air on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. A determination on which network will nationally televise the Michigan and Ohio State games clash may not be made until six days before the contests.
The remaining seven Penn State kick times and TV information most likely will occur when the Big Ten's 6 or 12 day selection process begins in early September for the games on Sept. 21.
Every Nittany Lion football game has been televised the past nine seasons and 228 of the last 230 Penn State contests overall have been on TV. All Nittany Lion football and basketball games air on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
Penn State returns 16 starters and 38 letterwinners for this fall. Season tickets are available for the 2013 campaign. The Nittany Lions will host five bowl teams from 2012, including three teams that finished in the BCS Top 25: Michigan (Oct. 12-Homecoming), Nebraska (Nov. 23) and Kent State (Sept. 21). Purdue, Illinois, UCF and Eastern Michigan also will visit Beaver Stadium this fall.
