PENN STATE ASSISTANT COACH PLAYER QUOTES
Q: Did you think that you would be able to handle the run or pass better?
A: Yeah, honestly we thought we would be able to handle both better. It's a collective effort. Coaches and player have to look at the tape and figure out what it was. We felt good going in. We knew what we had to do to stop them. To be honest with you, we couldn't stop what we needed to stop - by scheme, coaches-wise, and players.
Q: How much concern is there about confidence moving forward?
A: There's no concern. If there is one thing people should know about our players is they've been through a lot worse than losing to Central Florida. They're confidence is going to be shaken like it always is in a loss but they'll come back to the drawing board Monday. Just what coach O.B. said, put our nose back to the grindstone and correct what we have to correct and move forward. I have no concern about that.
Q: You said we didn't do things that we needed to do. Can you elaborate on that?
A: I think part of it is in any football they've got 11 players and we have 11 players. We've got coaches and they've got coaches. They just did a better job collectively. Their players executed the game plan probably better than ours did. And their offensive coaches coached better than I did tonight. Give the credit to them. The quarterback's a really good player.
