J.B. Walton is working hard for an opportunity to make his Penn State debut. A first-team all-state and all-metro selection at Maryland's Lackey HS, he spent one year at Milford Academy before enrolling at Penn State during the summer of 2007. Walton has good size, athleticism and quickness and ended spring drills battling Josh Marks for the top reserve spot at right guard. Walton is one of seven returnees from Maryland.

High School
Walton was a standout three-sport athlete at Lackey HS, lettering in football, basketball and track and field. During his senior year, he was team captain and MVP for Coach Douglas Lamb, earning All-America honors from Rivals.com, SuperPrep and Reebok. He earned all-state honors twice, All-SMAC and all-county honors three times and Washington Post All-Met honors once. He also earned a spot on the George Michael Golden 11 team. Walton made 64 tackles, with 10 for losses and four sacks as a senior, with 61 stops, nine TFL and six sacks as a junior. A four-year starter, Walton helped his team to two regional championships, advancing to the state title game twice. He earned all-county honors twice as a weightman on the track and field team, winning the SMAC and regional titles in the discus as a senior. He attended Milford Academy for one year after high school, playing for Coach William Chaplick.

Personal
Full name is Jason Bruce Walton Jr. He is the son of Jason and Phyllis Walton and is one of four children. His sister, Tonya, is a member of the track and field team at Bowie State University. He has two brothers, Justin and Damien. In his free time, Walton enjoys spending time with friends, listening to music and watching movies. He is interested in a career in graphic design or computers. Born August 14, 1988 in Prince Georges County, Md.
