Allen Robinson was an immediate contributor for the Nittany Lion passing game last season as a true freshman and should have an opportunity to play a more significant role this fall. Robinson joins Christian Kuntz as the squad's tallest wide receivers as Penn State seeks reliable wideouts able to elevate and make difficult catches. The swift and athletic Robinson made substantial progress during his first year in the Penn State program, playing in 12 games and earning a start in the regular-season finale at Wisconsin. He continued to step up during spring drills and will have an opportunity to win a starting assignment when preseason camp begins. In the 2012 Blue-White game, he made three catches for a game-high 87 yards, including a 41-yard grab from Matt McGloin. Robinson is among four Nittany Lion returnees from Michigan.

2011 Freshman Season
Robinson was among four true freshmen to see action, making three catches for 29 yards over 12 games. In his second career game, Robinson caught his first career pass, good for 12 yards against No. 2 Alabama. He made one catch for eight yards in the road matchup at Temple and one grab for nine yards against Nebraska. Robinson made his first career start at Wisconsin in the battle for the Big Ten Leaders Division title. He was on the field for 93 plays during his true freshman season, including a high of 14 against Eastern Michigan.

High School
Robinson was instrumental in leading Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep to the Michigan Division 3 state championship game. Playing for Coach George Porritt, Robinson caught 44 passes for 720 yards and scored 10 touchdowns as a senior. He also returned two punts for touchdowns and intercepted two passes. Robinson was a teammate of Nittany Lion quarterback Rob Bolden at Orchard Lake St. Mary's. Robinson also was captain of the basketball team.
