Running Backs Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Charles London is in his second year as the Penn State running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. London and Ron Vanderlinden also oversee the special teams. During the 2012 season, he was instrumental in the development of sophomore Zach Zwinak, who posted six 100-yard rushing efforts in Big Ten play and gained 1,000 yards for the year, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. Running backs Zwinak, Bill Belton and Michael Zordich accumulated 1,564 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns, as well as 44 receptions. London came to Penn State after serving one season as the offensive assistant/quality control coach with the NFL's Tennessee Titans under former Nittany Lion and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Mike Munchak.

During the 2011 season, he helped the Titans to a 9-7 record and 245.2 passing yards per game, missing out on an AFC playoff berth via a tiebreaker. His NFL resume also includes one season as a pro scout for the Philadelphia Eagles (2010) and three years as an offensive assistant with the Chicago Bears (2007-09). London coached for three years at his alma mater, Duke, serving as a graduate assistant (2004-05) and running backs coach (2006), working with Bill O'Brien his last two years. From Dunwoody, Ga., London was a running back and sprinter on the Blue Devils' track and field team as an undergraduate. In 2005, he completed a coaching internship with the New England Patriots as part of the NFL's Minority Internship program. London earned undergraduate and master's degrees from Duke.
