Kyle Carter joins the tight ends eager to continue to learn the Nittany Lions' new offense and the various roles the tight ends will have this season. Carter made very good progress during his redshirt freshman season and is looking forward to training camp and continuing making a strong impression. He has good physical attributes and skills and following a strong spring should have an opportunity to play a significant role this season. Carter owned a 3.15 cumulative grade-point average after the spring semester and is a potential Academic All-Big Ten honoree. He joins James Terry as Nittany Lion returnees from Delaware.

Carter was a third-team all-state selection for Coach Bill Cole at William Penn High School as a senior. He moved to tight end for his senior season after playing wide receiver as a junior. Carter was selected a first-team all-conference tight end as a senior and a second-team defensive end as a junior. He compiled a 3.5 grade-point average.

Full name is Kyle T. Carter. He is the son of Mitchell and Charlene Carter. He enjoys playing video games, watching TV and working out. Carter is enrolled in the College of Health and Human Development and is interested in a career as a physical therapist or an athletic trainer. Born December 17, 1992 in New Castle, Del.
