Venuto was a three-year letterman and starter at Ithaca High School for coach Ed Redmond. He was a captain for the team in 2008. He was named team Defensive MVP following his junior year. Played attack and midfield to letter four years in lacrosse. At one time, his team was ranked 15th in the country and got to the state final four that year. Venuto was named MVP of the Section 4 State Playoffs. Was named to the Honor Roll Scholar Athlete list his junior and senior years.

Personal Full name is Garrett Burlington Venuto. He is the son of Jill Burlington and Jay Venuto. Has a brother, Chase. His aunt attended Penn State. His father played quarterback at Wake Forest and later for the Baltimore Colts. His uncle, Sam Venuto Jr, played at Delaward. Grandfather, Sam Venuto, played at Guilford College and later for the Washington Redskins. He is majoring in Enterprise Risk Management and Finance. Born on April 30, 1991 in Ithaca, N.Y.
