In his third year on the coaching staff, Elijah Robinson is in his first season as an assistant coach, working with Larry Johnson and the defensive line. A lineman on the Nittany Lion football team from 2004-07, Robinson's playing career was cut short when he suffered a neck injury during spring practice in 2007. He began his career at defensive tackle, but was competing for a starting assignment at guard when he was injured. Robinson graduated from Penn State in 2008 and joined the Nittany Lion staff as a graduate assistant coach one year later. His primary responsibilities were assisting Johnson in coaching the defensive line and preparing the offensive scout team from 2009 until his promotion earlier this year. Robinson earned All-State and All-South Jersey honors at Woodrow Wilson High School, leading the team to a 15-0 record and a state championship in 2002.
