Kevin Blanchard enters his first spring practice looking to make an impression on the offensive line. He redshirted last fall and brings impressive physical attributes to the field. Blanchard earned Dean's List honors last fall with a superlative 3.84 grade point average. He joins Frank Figueroa as current Nittany Lions from the Lone Star State.

High School
Blanchard started for four years for Katy HS in Texas for coach Gary Joseph. Named to First Team Texas Class 5A Academic All-State Team in 2011. Earned University Interscholastic League Scholar Award for Academic and Extracurricular Achievements. Blanchard earned honorable-mention All-District and Academic All-District honors as a senior at Katy High School. He helped lead the perennial powerhouse Katy program to a 13-1 record and a state championship appearance in 2010.
Personal
Full name is Kevin Blanchard. He is the son of Mark and Judy Blanchard. Has an older brother, Stephen, who also attends Penn State. His mother graduated from Penn State in 1985. Also has an aunt and an uncle that attended Penn State. Kevin volunteers for the Challenger Baseball program, a Little League for special needs kids. Also enjoys swimming and helps his family raise homing pigeons. He plans to double major in Business Marketing and Psychology. He was born on June 30, 1992 in Houston, Texas.
