Chris Bell continued the infusion of play-making abilities into the young, but talented Penn State wide receiving corps during his true freshman season in 2006. He is a highly skilled athlete whose 6-2 frame brings great size to the passing game. A U.S. Army All-American from Granby HS, Bell played in 12 games and provided a spark for the offense. He has excellent speed and hands and made good strides during his first year as a Nittany Lion. With everyone returning from the wideout unit, Bell will have to continue to improve and be consistently productive in his bid to gain more playing time this season. Bell hails from the same high school that produced former Penn State standouts Levi Brown and Anthony King during the past decade. He is one of three current Lions from the Tidewater Region of Virginia, joining Devin Fentress and Terrell Golden.

High School
Bell was ranked the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation by Scout.com. Playing for Coach Dave Hudak, he also was a first-team all-state honoree. Bell caught 32 passes for 340 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior and had 52 receptions for 700 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. Bell was selected a U.S. Army All-American and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl with future Nittany Lion teammates Maurice Evans, Jared Odrick and A.J. Wallace.

Personal
Full name is Christopher H. Bell. He is undecided on a major. Born February 14, 1987.
