Tabbed as a four-star prospect by and, Polk averaged 11.8 yards per reception (26 catches, 303 yards) and 9.3 yards per carry (28 carries, 260 yards) in just seven games as a senior for Briar Wood High School under the direction of coach Charlie Pierce. He scored five touchdowns (4 receiving, 1 rushing) and averaged 20.8 yards per punt return in 2014. As a junior, he teamed with current Nittany Lion quarterback Trace McSorley to lead the Falcons to the Virginia 5A State Championship game. Polk had 635 receiving yards with eight touchdowns and rushed for 232 yards (7.7 avg.) in 2013. On the track, Polk was a Virginia state champion in the 200-meter dash as a sophomore. tabs Polk as the top wide receiver in the state of Virginia and the 17th wide out nationally. He is also rated by as the 69th-best wide receiver in the 2015 class.
