UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -
The Penn State fencing team will travel to Queens, N.Y. this Saturday to compete in the St. John's Invitational, which will air on ESPN3 beginning at 2 p.m.
The Nittany Lions men's and women's teams have recently been ranked second and fifth, respectively, in the country by CollegeFencing360.com. This weekend Penn State will compete against five other top ten ranked teams at the St. John's Invitational, with action set to begin at 10 a.m.
ESPN3 will begin the broadcast at 2 p.m. with highlights from matches earlier in the day, which will include highlights from the Penn State duals. The St. John's-Notre Dame match, scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m., will then air live. This will be followed by the St. John's-Harvard match, which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. The broadcast will stay on air until approximately 5 p.m., or until a winner is crowned. The play-by-play broadcaster will be Ralph Bednarczyk of Verizon Fios, the Big East, and the NCAA. The color analyst will be Jeff Speak, a 2012 Olympian and Columbia graduate.
