Greenville, S.C. - January 14, 2001 - The Penn State fencers have a number of athletes competing in the NAC Open in Greenville, S.C., this weekend. Over the first two days of competion, seven Penn State fencers have posted top-48 performances.

In Division I Men's Foil, freshman Nonpatat Panchan placed seventh overall, outdistancing teammates Jonathan Charles and Omar Bhutta, who placed 39th and 43rd respectively. On the women's side, in Division I epee, Stephanie Eim finished second with teammate Jessica Burke placing a close third in the competition.

Austin O'Neill was 19th in the Division I women's saber, with Stephanie Tam finishing 33rd. The women's foil, men's saber and men's epee competitions will conclude on Sunday and Monday.
