PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -

Penn State fencing had a fantastic day at the 2014 Temple Invitational. Both the men's and women's teams toppled the competition and were great all throughout the day.

The Penn State men's team overall went an undefeated 4-0 on the day and the women's team finished 3-1. The men beat St. John's University 16-11, Duke University 16-11, Princeton University 18-9, and University of Pennsylvania 16-11. The Penn State women's team finished on top against Temple University 14-13, Duke University 15-12, and St. John's University 14-13 and only fell to Princeton University 8-19.

Stand-out individual results from the day are as followed:

Freshman Conor Shepard (Colleyville, Texas) went a solid 9-1 in the men's epee event.

In the men's foil event, sophomore Nobou Bravo (San Francisco, Calif.) had an outstanding day and went undefeated 10-0 on the day in the event. Senior Jeremy Goldstein (Westport, Conn.) also had a decent showing in the event and finished 9-3.

In the men's saber event, junior Alex Schneller (Billerica, Mass.) completed the day 4-2.

In the women's epee event, freshman Jessie Radanovich (Frisco, Calif.) finished the day 6-4.

In the women's saber event, freshman Teodara Kakhiani (Tbilsi, Georgia) had a strong showing and completed the day 8-3. Senior Nicole Glon (State College, Pa.) also competed in the event and finished 4-1.

The Nittany Lions return to collegiate action March 8th when they compete at the Mid-Atl/South NCAA Regionals in Easton, Pa.
