Senior James Moody will look to make his third trip to the NCAA Championships this season. After earning a 17th place at nationals, Moody will work to achieve his first ever All-American status. The captain led the epee squad last year with a career-high 34 wins in dual competition. In addition, Moody will look to join the elite group of 100 win fencers at Penn State

LION CAREER: 2007-08: The competitive Moody tied fellow teammate Nick Chinman with a .895 win percentage last year, a team high. In addition, his 34 wins tied for second on the men's fencing squad. His seventh place finish at Regionals was just good enough for his second berth into the NCAA Championships. Moody's dual match records consisted of 10-3, 13-0, 9-1, and 2-0. In addition, the competitive Moody took a fifth place finish at the annual Penn State Garrett Open and he finished second behind fellow teammate Sam Larsen at the Temple Open.

2006-07: Moody posted a 30-16 dual match record last year and claimed the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional title.

2005-06: Moody posted a solid 29-14 record as a rookie and qualified for nationals after a ninth-place finish at regionals. Moody went on to place 19th at the NCAA Championships in Houston.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Moody graduated from Boulder High School in Boulder, Colo. He fenced for coach Gary Copeland's Northern Colorado Fencers club.
