Arizona-native Sam Larsen found some success his freshmn season of epee competition. The junior will look to make himself a consistent starter in the epee lineup this year.

LION CAREER:
2008-09: Larsen did not see any action last year.

2007-08: Larsen completed his first season with a 2-3 overall record in epee competition. In addition, he finished in first place at the Temple Open last October.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Larsen fenced in Phoenix, Arizona, for the Phoenix Falcons club team through 2005. He fenced for 1956 Olympic fencer Skip Shurtz. Upon moving to State College, he then fenced at the Central Pennsylvania Fencing Club for coaches Wes Glon and Victor Svatenko. Larsen's mother, Elizabeth, was an All-American for Penn State's track and cross country teams in the mid-70s. Larsen has a plethora of junior accolades, including a top 20 finish at the 2007 NAC Juniors in Columbus and a top 20 at 2007 Summer Nationals in Miami.
