Senior Maxwell Dettlinger hopes to continue improving his career record after he posted a 19-12 record last season and his first trip to the NCAA Championships.

LION CAREER:
2008-09: Dettlinger emerged as a starter for Penn State last year and worked his way to his first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships. A 19-12 regular season mark prepped the Kentucky native for a third place finish at Regionals and an 11-win, 15th-place finish at nationals

2007-08: Dettlinger finished with a 4-3 overall record in duals action. All of his action came at the Penn State Duals.

2006-07: Dettlinger went 14-3 as a true freshman. He posted dual match records of 5-1, 3-1 and 6-1.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Dettlinger was coached by renowned fencing instructor Leszek Stawicki at the Louisville Fencing Center. A 2006 graduate of DuPont Manual High School, he was a member of the Beta Club and won the Cory Stauble Scholarship.
