Penn State vs. Mount St. Mary's * With a 65-53 victory over Mount St. Mary's, Penn State closes out the non-conference season with an 8-3 record, including a 7-1 home mark. It marks Penn State's best non-conference record since going 10-1 in 2000-01. * Penn State recorded its seventh home win in nine home games, equaling the most home wins in a season under Coach DeChellis, with eight home games remaining. Penn State posted seven home wins in DeChellis' first year of 2003-04. * Penn State won its fifth straight home game, its longest home winning streak since winning five straight in the 2002-03 season. * Penn State's four-game win streak equals the longest under Coach DeChellis. The Nittany Lions also won four straight last season. * Penn State out-rebounded Mount St. Mary's 32-30, marking the ninth time in its last 11 non-conference games that the Nittany Lions have won the rebounding battle. * Penn State shot better than 48% for the fourth straight game, hitting 22-of-44 for 50%. The percentage also marks the sixth time this season that the Nittany Lions have shot 50% or better, the most times they have accomplished the feat since recording nine such outings in 1999-2000. * Freshman Jamelle Cornley fell one rebound shy of his career high, tallying eight against Mount St. Mary's. His career high is nine, set versus Cornell on Nov. 19. * Freshman Joonas Suotamo recorded a career-high two rebounds, one assist and one block in four minutes of play against Mount St. Mary's. * As a team, Penn State set a season high in free throw attempts with 28. The previous high was 26 versus IPFW on Dec. 28. * The Nittany Lions fell just short of their season high in blocks, recording four against Mount St. Mary's, including a career-high-tying three from sophomore Geary Claxton. Penn State's team high in blocks is five, set against Cornell on Nov. 19. Claxton's three blocks is the highest total by a Penn State player this season.
