Penn State Team Notes

Penn State improves to 10-0 when leading at half this season.

When holding the opponent under 70 points this season, Penn State is 8-1 and the Nittany Lions are 5-1 this season when scoring at least 80 points.

All five Nittany Lion starters scored in double figures.

The win over Binghamton marked the fifth time this season with at least five Nittany Lions in double figures and a perfect 5-0 record.

The Penn State starting lineup accounted for 73 of the 80 points.

Penn State has recorded at least 10 wins before the University’s winter break in three of the last five seasons.

Penn State improves to 4-1 in December this season.

Penn State is now 7-1 at home in 2017-18.

Nittany Lions Individual Notes


 

 

Tony Carr – scored 15 points. He has scored at least 10 points in a game 10 times this season and 36 times in his career.

Tony Carr recorded nine assists, which tied his career-best for a regulation game, accomplished previously this season at Iowa (12/2).

Shep Garner now owns sole possession of 15th all-time in points at PSU with 1,325. Ed Fogell (1986-90) ranks 14th all-time at PSU with 1,329 points. 

Shep Garner remains fourth all-time at PSU in 3-point field goals made with 253.

Josh Reaves scored 15 points. He has scored at least 10 points in a game eight times this season and 20 times in his career.

Josh Reaves tallied two steals to improve his season total to 27 and career total to 123. Heading into Tuesday’s game, he was tied with teammate Jamari Wheeler for the Big Ten lead and a No. 23 ranking in the NCAA.

Lamar Stevens scored 16 points. He has scored at least 10 points in a game 10 times this season and 31 times in his career.

Mike Watkins finished with three blocks. He remains fourth all-time at PSU in blocks – one shy of tying Jordan Dickerson (2014-16) for third all-time at PSU with 133.

With 12 points and 11 rebounds, Watkins posted his second double-double in as many games, fourth double-double this season and the 12th of his career.

Mike Watkins scored 12 points. He has scored at least 10 points in a game eight times this season and 24 times in his career.

Mike Watkins recorded 11 rebounds. He has recorded at least 10 rebounds in five games this season and 14 times in his career.

Miscellaneous Notes

With the win, Penn State won the first-ever meeting between the two programs Tuesday night.
