Alumni Weekend Registration Form
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s basketball program will celebrate alumni weekend Friday-Saturday, February 2-4, 2018. Mitch Stover, who has served as the equipment manager for the Nittany Lion basketball program for 23 years, has been selected as the honorary captain for the Penn State-Iowa game on February 3. All former Penn State men’s basketball student-athletes and their families are invited back to campus for this fun-filled weekend.
“I have been blessed and honored to have worked with this team and in this athletics department,” said Stover, who is planning on retiring at the end of this season. “It has been a privilege to have been a part of this incredible University for more than 36 years.”
In addition to the game, a full slate of events is scheduled for the weekend with a Friday evening social, Saturday pre-game event in the Bryce Jordan Center, alumni pickup game, the Lady Lions game vs. Michigan State on Feb. 4, and other activities. Tipoff for the Iowa game will be announced closer to the date of the contest, but will be either 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. Final event times will be determined once game time is set.
“Having our alumni back on campus is always a great experience,” said Coach Patrick Chambers. “This year is even more special in that we all have the opportunity to honor and thank Mitch Stover for his 20-plus years of selfless service to this program.”
