UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.; Oct. 27 , 2012 - Penn State men's basketball single game tickets will be available starting Monday, Oct. 29 for 17 Nittany Lion home games during the 2012-13 season at the Bryce Jordan Center. Penn State also announced a full promotional schedule for the men's basketball season including numerous giveaways, Dollar Dog Nights, ticket promotions and half time performances.
Single game tickets for men's basketball, which will feature five home dates vs. Big Ten teams ranked in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll including No. 1 Indiana, are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY or by visiting GoPSUsports.com/tickets or Ticketmaster. Single-game tickets for Nittany Lion games are $24 for lower bowl seats between the baselines, $18 for the lower bowl behind the baskets and upper level between the baselines and $15 for upper level behind the basket seats for adults and seniors. Youth tickets (18 and under) are $10, while Penn State student tickets (University Park or branch campus) are $5.
The Nittany Lions exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 3 vs. Philadelphia University will be a $5 general admission ticket. Penn State officially opens the season on Friday, Nov. 9 when it takes on Saint Francis in a 7:00 p.m. tip.
Penn State also offers special basketball group ticket rates for groups of 25 fans or more, while all groups of 15 or more qualify for a Penn State adjustable hat as a group gift. Nittany Lion group rates are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Interested groups are asked to contact 1-800-NITTANY.
PNC Flex Books are also available again this year for $99. The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game on Saturday, Jan. 26 vs. Ohio State and the Lady Lions' Think Pink game on Sunday, Feb. 24 vs. Michigan.
The Nittany Lion basketball schedule is highlighted by nine weekend home dates, including three in the Big Ten season, a "Black Friday" post Thanksgiving clash with Bucknell on Nov. 23, and an ACC/Big Ten Challenge date with Boston College on Nov. 28. Weekend home opponents for the Nittany Lions include clashes with Penn (Sat., Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.), Army (Sat., Dec. 8 at 4 p.m.), Delaware State (Sat., Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.), New Hampshire (Sun., Dec. 23 at 11 a.m.), Duquesne (Sat., Dec. 29 at 4 p.m.), Nebraska (Sat., Jan. 19 at 1 p.m.), Ohio State (Sat., Jan. 26 at noon) and Wisconsin (Sun., March 10 at noon).
The Nittany Lion basketball promotional schedule will feature five Dollar Dog Nights throughout the season and five chances for fans to take advantage of the ever-popular Subway Full Court 4 Pack (4 For $40) promotion, in which fans can get four tickets, four six-inch Subway subs and four drinks for just $40. Giveaways for fans to enjoy this year include snapback hats, a winter scarf, drawstring bags, schedule magnets and for the holiday season a one-of-a-kind Penn State Shelf Elf for the kids. Featured halftime performers will include the Russian Bar Trio, Red Panda and Flag Man, a new act to the BJC.
Preseason All-Big Ten guard Tim Frazier (Houston, Texas), the lone returning first team Big Ten selection from last year, returns for his senior season to lead a Penn State team that returns four players that started at least 16 games and its top two scorers in Frazier, who finished second in the Big Ten at 18.8 ppg, and junior guard Jermaine Marshall (Etters, Pa.), who posted 10.8 ppg. Bolstering that group will be Southern Mississippi transfer D.J. Newbill (Philadelphia, Pa.), who sat out last season after posting 9.2 ppg and 6.2 rpg as a freshman for the Golden Eagles in 2010-11. Penn State will return 70 percent of its scoring, 60 percent of its rebounding and 78 percent of its assists from a team that posted a 12-20 mark in Chambers' first season.
