Nittany Lion Basketball Player Sharif Chambliss To Transfer To Wisconsin

State College, Pa. - April 10, 2003 - Penn State Nittany Lion basketball player Sharif Chambliss (Racine, Wisc.), who had already received a release from his basketball scholarship, will transfer to the University of Wisconsin to continue his playing career.

"I would first like to thank everyone at Penn State who supported me," Chambliss said. "I want to thank Mr. Curley and the rest of the support staff as well as the entire basketball family. I very much appreciate the support of the fans and I wish coach DeChellis and the team the best of luck next season."

Chambliss, a 6-0 guard, was a two-year starter for Penn State and averaged 14.7 points per game this past season. He also led the Big Ten with a .901 free throw mark (64-71).
