David Jackson

Player Profile

Class:
RS Junior

Hometown:
Farrell, Pa.

High School:
Kennedy Catholic

Height / Weight:
6-7 / 210

Position:
F

Birthdate:
08/20/1988

Experience:
JR

After struggling offensively for much of last season, David Jackson found his rhythm and saw his confidence soar in seven post-season games as he posted four double-digit outings and averaged 8.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Penn State will be looking for that type of performance consistently out of the 6-7, junior this season. With an active body, long arms and a terrific feel for the game, Jackson is an all-around asset on the floor and a strong defender. With perimeter range to the three-point line and a back-to-the basket offensive arsenal, he will be looked toward to replace the scoring lost by the graduations of post Jamelle Cornley and guard Stanley Pringle. He brings 39 career starts and 72 career games of experience and can play either on the perimeter or the interior. Though possessing a lean, wiry frame, Jackson has established himself as one of the strongest players in the weight room, posting a team-best 21 reps in the 185-pound bench press, and has the ability to battle effectively around the rim in the physical Big Ten.
