UNIVERSITY Park, Pa. - Six Penn State baseball players are set to volunteer at the Kevin Dare Fundraiser on Saturday prior to the Penn State/Iowa football game. The Nittany Lions will team up with other student-athletes to sell raffle tickets on behalf of the Kevin Dare Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Representing baseball are Ben Heath, Mike Pierce, Kayle Sickler, Jordan Steranka, Jose Texidor and Drew Yukelson. They will sell raffle tickets to tailgaters around Beaver Stadium from 5-7 p.m.

Dare was a sophomore pole-vaulter at Penn State who tragically passed away on Feb. 23, 2002 while competing in the Big Ten Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Ever since, SAAB, the Student Athlete Advisory Board, has been instrumental in getting student-athletes involved in this worthy cause.

Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley has also teamed with the Dare family in helping increase the safety of Pole Vaulting by developing a specially designed helmet.
