Penn State Baseball Team¡¯s Opener at Michigan Rained Out
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (May 21, 2004) The Penn State at Michigan baseball game, scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, has been canceled due to heavy rain and severe thunderstorms. The two squads will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday and another at 1 p.m. Sunday. The first game on Saturday will be a nine inning contest and the second game will be a seven inning game. Sunday¡¯s first game will be seven innings and the second game will be nine innings. The Nittany Lions are currently 27-24 overall, 16-12 and in a fourth place tie with the Wolverines in the Big Ten. Michigan is 29-23, 16-12. Heading into the final weekend of play, Minnesota, Ohio State and Michigan State have already clinched a playoff spot and are playing for the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament, which will be held May 26-30 at the site of the regular season champion. Penn State has also clinched, while Michigan, Purdue and Northwestern are fighting for the final two playoff spots.
