Champaign, Ill., May 12, 2002 — Sunday’s scheduled series finale between Penn State and Illinois at Illinois Field was cancelled due to heavy rains and flash floods that occurred in the Champaign, Ill., area.

Penn State will return to action on Wednesday, May 15 when it hosts Virginia in a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Beaver Field.

The Nittany Lions will close out the Big Ten regular season beginning Friday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. when they host Michigan State in the first contest of a four-game conference series.

Penn State is currently 22-25 overall and 11-15 in Big Ten play.
