Baseball To Hold Ticket Extravaganza on Thursday, March 1
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; February 26, 2007 - To mark the day that single game tickets for the 2007 Penn State baseball season go on sale, the Penn State baseball program will hold its first ever Ticket Extravaganza this Thursday, March 1, from 9:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Single game tickets will go on sale for the first time this year on Thursday while season tickets will also continue to be available, as they have been on sale since February 13. In addition to season and single-game tickets being available for purchase, as part of the Ticket Extravaganza, tours will be given of Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to any fans that wish to see the new facility. Also, Penn State coaches and players will be available to greet fans from the beginning of the event until 1:00 p.m. A good luck send-off will then take place at 1:30 p.m. for the team as the Nittany Lions will depart at that time from the stadium for their three-game series this weekend, Friday-Sunday at No. 1 North Carolina. Additionally, there will also be four remote radio broadcasts from the stadium on Thursday. WWWZ will broadcast from 11-1, WBUS will be there from 1-3, JOE-FM will also broadcast from 3-5, and the Sports Jam Network will do its nightly show from ¡°The Med¡± from 5-7. All ticket sales for Penn State baseball are handled by the State College Spikes ticket office, which is located in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. In addition to Thursday¡¯s event, season and single-game tickets can be purchased by calling the Spikes ticket office at (814) 272-1711 or toll-free 1-877-99-SPIKES. Single-game tickets can also be purchased online at GoPSUsports.com or Statecollegespikes.com beginning on Thursday. Season or single-game tickets are also available to be purchased at the stadium Monday-Friday from 9-5. The majority of the 5,406 seats at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park are general admission for Penn State baseball games. Individual game general admission ticket prices are $4.00 per game. For youth 18 and under, individual games run for $2.00. For Penn State students, season tickets are only $20.00 and individual games are also $2.00. There will also be two designated seating areas for Penn State students, section 103, which is down the third base line from home plate, as well as behind the visiting team dugout, which is also located on the third base side of the field. Groups of 20 or more have an opportunity to purchase single-game tickets for $3.00 each. The only reserved seating in the ballpark for Penn State baseball games will be sections 104-107, which are the three sections behind home plate and the first section down the first base line closest to home plate. Individual game tickets can be bought for any of the four reserved sections, subject to availability, for $6.00 per game. Two luxury suites are also available on an individual game basis for $400, which includes 40 tickets. These suites, numbers 519 and 520, are located on the first base side of the suite level and their sales are also subject to availability. All suites sales are also handled by the Spikes.
