AS A FRESHMAN IN 2011: Led the team and ranked eighth in the Big Ten with 25 appearances during his first season with the Nittany Lions ... Posted a 2-3 record with two saves and a 4.42 ERA ... Struck out 23 batters over 36.2 innings of work during the year ... Made his collegiate debut in the season opener on February 18, posting a strikeout against Seton Hall ... Allowed just two earned runs over his next eight games ... Posted a pair of scoreless appearances against NC State, combining to toss 1.1 innings of shutout ball against the ACC power ... Earned his first career victory against Norfolk State on March 12, firing four innings and allowing just one run against the Spartans while posting a season-high six strikeouts ... HIGH SCHOOL: Key member of the Council Rock South baseball team ... Earned first-team All-League honors as a senior after being selected to the second-team squad as a junior ...
